Funny, this video perfectly sums up what I explained to my psych today about my current mindset. I’m finally at peace, with the awareness that it was never really me who had the problem. It’s just that I’ve always refused to be anything other than honest…including being honest about the world as it really is. I don’t think this perspective leads to ‘thriving’ in the traditional sense, at least not for me. But now that I understand this, it brings a deep peace. I no longer beat myself up over perceived failures, because I realize now: holding onto who I truly am is the major success I would have missed if I had given in to conformity.

I live in an area with many homeless people. I often hear them arguing violently until I look and see they are fighting with themselves. Sometimes i think it’s what happens when that inner critic becomes overwhelming. But I agree it’s often the voice of the ‘other’, the world condemning you for your own misfortunes. It’s easier to blame ourselves than to lose the illusion of control.

She literally just made most of that shit up. In actual psychology, high IQ is extremely protective against most mental illnesses, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and OCD are all correlated negatively with IQ.
ASD is correlated with low IQ generally but there are also more high IQ people with ASD than you'd expect, they span the whole range of intelligence. Bipolar disorder follows a J shaped distribution with IQ, having average IQ is the most protective against bipolar.
On average, People with ADHD have slightly lower IQs but they still span the whole spectrum of intelligence.
